Closing Reading: Cole Swensen

To conclude her weekend writing residency, poet Cole Swensen will read from her extensive body of work. During her workshop at Lynden, Poetry as Pluralistic Process, Swensen utilized the sculptures and grounds as inspiration for ekphrastic writing exercises. In her fifteen books of poetry, she often responds to or incorporates elements or works of visual art. Recent books address 17th-century French baroque gardens and the window paintings of Pierre Bonnard, and an upcoming volume is based on landscapes seen from train windows.
